Albert Langer as he was know then was one of the most high profile student revolutionaries in Australia in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was vice president pof the Monash Labour Club a politic group on campus which was regarded as Maoist.
During the Vietnam war Langer supported victory for the North Vietnamese, not just an end the to the war as many others desired.
This photograph was taken from inside the Army Engineers depot in Swan St melbourne where young men who had been conscripted had to report for duty. This became a focus of protest by left wing groups and S.O.S. (Save Our Sons). This site is now the front of the new Rugby & Spccer stadium.
