    27A – Winner of Best Film & Best Actor at the Australian Film Institute Awards

    Robert McDarra plays Bill an alcoholic locked in a mental asylum till he can convince them to let him out. He won best actor at the Australian Film Institute Awards for his memorable portrayal of a man trapped inside the system.
    Bill Hunter (left) plays the role of sadistic nurse Cornish.  Here receiving information from a snitch played by Ric Ireland.  This was Bill's first role in a feature film after his return from England.
    It's only a lawyer of good will who manages to get Bill out.
