This meeting of the Adelaide section of the CPA took place on August 30, 1956. ASIO made sure it recorded these meetings in all State capital and some of the major industrial centres as well. At a distance of more than 50 ears this scene looks innocent enough. With children chattering out the front of the People's Book Shop it certainly doesn't look like these people are a threat to the State. But to ASIO nothing was irrelevant and everything was recorded. Ultimately they recorded far more information than they could ever possibly analuse and endded up drowning in raw information.
